Eta Gamma Sisters: Honorary members
The following members have been inducted into the sisterhood throughout the years for their exemplary service to the Boston University Bands, the Eta Gamma chapter (or both). Where known, additional information is added. If any sister knows of an honorary that has been overlooked on this list (or has additional information to add), please contact the webmistress.
Dr. Lee Chrisman
Mrs. Vievia Chrisman
The Chrismans are the reason for the existence of our Boston University band program, as well as both the Eta Gamma chapter of Tau Beta Sigma and the Theta Beta chapter of Kappa Kappa Psi. We are indebted to both of them. Sadly, Dr. and Mrs. Chrisman died in the autumn of 1994. They were the first honoraries of the Eta Gamma chapter.
Velvet Brown
Stephen A. Dale
Active as a Theta Beta brother during his undergraduate years, Stephen has been extremely active as an alumni, supporting both chapters and the band program. He was inducted with Upsilon class, and given the nickname "Red Dog."
Eliot Dribben
Eliot was inducted with Phi Class and was given the nickname "Number One Fan."
Rob Hammerton
Rob was inducted with Tau class and was given the nickname "Hat Trick."
Jonathan Markowski
Jonathan is a former Color Guard instructor for the marching band. He was inducted with Psi class and was given the nickname "Gemini,"
Chris Parks
Chris is the current band director at BUMO and also serves as the faculty sponsor for Eta Gamma. He was inducted with Alpha Alpha class and given the nickname "Dad."
Sandy Portman
Sandy was inducted during the 1991-1992 school year.
Seth Pritkin
He was inducted with the Alpha Beta class and given the nickname "Splinter." Seth received his nickname because he was a mentor to his big sister while they both worked at BUMO. Seth, being the proud brass player that he is, told his big that she could not give him a nickname that related to woodwinds in any way, but she was still able to make his name relate back to wood.
Jane Snycler
Jane was inducted with Lambda class in 1991.
Toni Ann Scott
"T.A." served as a coaching staff member of the Color Guard for several years. She also taught flag and rifle skills to young band members in Winterguard programs in Massachusetts. She was inducted with Xi class.
Joseph A. Wright, III
Joe was the band director at BUMO from 1992- 2001. Along with his leadership of the BU Bands, Joe also was an integral force in reviving the Eta Gamma Sisterhood. Joe was inducted with Pi class.
